Criminal Records Check

In common with many volunteer, child-centred organizations, the TCYBA has a policy that ALL volunteer coaches MUST submit a Criminal Record Search every two years in order to be eligible to coach for our league. The TCYBA board is strict in enforcing this policy so if we do not receive a CRS from you before the first scheduled practice, you will be asked not to coach your team and another coach will have to be found.

For those of you unfamiliar to the process, you must visit the police station in the city in which you live. Ask them for a Criminal Record Search form, fill it out, and submit it along with the permission letter. They will probably call you in a few days to pick it up or, if they are not busy when you come in, they might even be able to process it immediately for you. CRSs for volunteer positions will not cost you anything provided that you have the letter authorizing you as a volunteer from the TCYBA. The contact person for the league is Ross Tomlinson, and the mailing address to be completed on the form is as follows:

PO Box 64569 RPO Como Lake
Coquitlam BC
V3J 7V7

Please note that a CRS from another organization, or because you are a teacher, does not qualify. Each organization requires a separate CRS.

We will not be running a team unless the coach has a CRS on file and it will be very unfortunate for the kids on your team to miss out on even one practice.

Please mail your processed CRS to Ross Tomlinson at the address above. If you have any questions, please contact Ross Tomlinson at coaching.director@tcyba.org.

Please obtain the CRS form from the Police or Community Police Station for the city in which you reside:
